"74% of Artists, made $2,000 or more in sales this past February at the 42nd Annual Mount Dora Arts Festival. We saw an increase in artists sales than the previous year,
as well as having a higher rating of above average than the year before. We're constantly brainstorming new ideas to make the festival more successful every year for the artists, sponsors, and patrons." Kristina Rosenburg, Marketing Director
Mount Dora Center for the Arts sends a survey out after the festival to all the participating artists, to really see how well the artists did in sales and for their anonymous opinion.
The top five qualities the artists liked was the large Attendance/Crowd, location, the staff/volunteers working, the quality of the show, and the artists amenities.
"It was the best of ALL of my art shows in Florida this year and possibly my best show EVER in Florida over the past 33 years!" - Peter Jones, Exhibiting Artist at the 42nd Annual Arts Festival
"I sure love the show and I had my best show from all the Florida shows that I did this year, including Coconut Grove!"- Amos Amit, Exhibiting Artist at the 42nd Annual Arts Festival
Then of course, issues that most people are aware of, the set-up process and parking. This year on the festival application, Mount Dora Center for the Arts (MDCA) asks the artists up-front what their parking requirements are. In hopes to see the requests ahead of time, to arrange for a smoother parking process. This past year, the Arts Festival also partnered with the City of Mount Dora and offered multiple shuttle locations for patrons, to help alleviate the stress of finding parking.
Next time you're in Central Florida, stop by Historic Mount Dora and take in the New England architecture and breathtaking views of Lake Dora.
